Update: May-September

Since the tornado hit Tuscaloosa four days after our wedding... my life has turned upside down and is finally righting itself.  We lived as constant travelers the last four months living with different friends and family. Our damages weren't that bad but our condo association was not prompt at all. This left us with unlivable conditions for over a month. Living out of suitcases is fun during your honeymoon, but after several weeks of throwing my suitcase around it begins to wear on your nerves.  A few weeks after we started to get our apartment put back together, my husband got a job as an attorney at a law firm in Huntsville. I backed out of the archaeology job I was applying for at my beloved alma mater and I spent my time finding us a new home.  Our condo in Tuscaloosa is still up for sale but we have purchased a great fixer-upper in Toney, AL. We went from living directly next to a train track in a loud 1 bedroom 1 bath party friendly condo/apartment community to being surrounded by serene farmland and pastures and having more rooms than I have items to decorate (which makes it all the more fun for me to go to antique auctions! Just window shopping for now).  The last several months have been focused on getting us settled in the house but now I can focus on doing the things I have severely procrastinated on such as my master's thesis and wedding thank-you notes. Hopefully, I will still makes lots of time for improving my blog, expanding my etsy.com store, and exploring Huntsville more so that the city feels like home.
For the next few weeks I will have several "catch-up" posts about my wedding, honeymoon, and house renovations and then I PROMISE I will revert the blog back to being food centered.  Also expect a wine and cheese party post and a Macabre Victorian Halloween party soon!  Also very excited about Alabama Football!
When I started this blog I really didn't know what I was doing with it or where I wanted it to go.  According to Google Analytics I should just stick to food recipe but according to my close friends I should stick to parties and art projects with funny stories.  I'm leaving it as a blend of both for now. I am so grateful that people have sent me exotic spices to try or have sent me items for giveaways to attract viewers.  If you find something you are particularly interested in or have any suggestions please comment! That is the only way I can improve my blog. My goal is to have 100 subscribers through Google by Christmas.  Please help me reach my goal if you do not already publicly follow my blog.
